What questions and answers are most productive in a job interview?

Last week we talked about James Caan’s article outlining the 3 questions you should ask in a job interview. Ritika Puri has also published a great article about the questions you should not ask as a recruiter. Ritika also explains what you should replace these questions with and why.

This is a great read for both recruiters and job-seekers. It illustrates the difference between good questions and bad questions, and by extension, good answers and bad answers. The bad questions rely on hypothetical scenarios, vague questions and questions without a correct or accurate answer, eg: ‘where do you see yourself in 10 years’, or ‘what is your biggest weakness?’ Instead, you should base your questions and answers on experiences and outcomes.

This is a good indication what recruiters wish to hear from candidates. They want to know what you did and how you did it, taking evidence from real experiences and projects.
